How soon after a sexual encounter can I get tested?

Better2Know’s Peace of Mind Screen comprises private and confidential testing for three sexually transmitted infections: Syphilis, Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea. This screen is suitable for those who have achieved a minimum period of 14 days, or two weeks, of incubation. The incubation period is the length of time between the incident you are concerned about and getting tested.

Which samples does the Peace of Mind Screen require?

This screen requires blood and urine samples only. The blood sample detects Syphilis infections while the urine sample looks for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea. There are no uncomfortable swabs or fasting requirements associated with this test.

What happens at my appointment?

At your private and confidential clinic appointment, you will be seen by a highly qualified clinician. They will explain your test, answer your questions and collect your blood and urine samples before sending them for analysis at our certified laboratory.

When will my confidential results be available?

Your results will be ready one to five working days after your samples have arrived at our central laboratory.
