How soon after a sexual encounter can I get tested?

Better2Know’s Comfort Screen is suitable just 14 days, or two weeks, after an incident of concern. The screen has been specifically designed by a panel of sexual health experts, to provide complete peace of mind surrounding six sexually transmitted infections.

Which samples does the Comfort Screen require?

The Better2Know Comfort Screen requires a single urine sample to detect six harmful infections. There are no uncomfortable swabs or dietary requirements with this screen, and there is no need to fast before your test. To ensure you can produce a urine sample at your private appointment, it is advisable to avoid urinating for at least two hours prior to testing.

What happens at my appointment?

At your confidential appointment, your urine sample will be collected by a qualified nurse or clinician. Once the nurse has taken your sample, it will be sent for analysis at our fully certified, European laboratory.

When will my confidential results be available?

You will receive your Comfort Screen results within one to five working days of your sample’s arrival at our accredited laboratory.

How will my results be reported?

Test results are reported securely online to the patient log-in area of our website. You can check their progress at any time using your unique PIN number. If requested, a trained Sexual Health Advisor will also contact you as soon as all your results are ready.

What if my screen is reactive?

If your Comfort Screen shows the presence of an infection, Better2Know can arrange a private consultation with a Doctor. They will discuss your diagnosis with you and, depending on your infection, provide a prescription for the medication you require. If necessary, we will also refer you to a specialist service.

You can, instead, take your results to your own doctor or healthcare provider.
