How is Hepatitis A treated?

In most cases of Hepatitis A, a full recovery will be made within a couple of months. If cured, you can have a lifelong immunity to the virus. It is still important for you to continue monitoring your health and to avoid transmitting the virus by maintaining high standards of personal hygiene. It is also advised that you refrain from alcohol consumption whilst infected.

What else should I get tested for?

Better2Know’s range of services caters for all genders and sexualities, with tests and screens to suit homosexuals, heterosexuals, men who sleep with men (MSM) and women who sleep with women (WSW).

For MSM, we would suggest the Complete Screen which includes tests for infections that are more likely to affect men who sleep with men, such as HIV, Gonorrhoea, Hepatitis B and Syphilis. For WSW, our Comfort Screen searches for infections commonly known to affect women who sleep with women such as Gardnerella, Mycoplasma and Trichomonas.
